Carlos Americano, Esq.

Carlos was born and raised in a small town in the Salinas Valley California where he honed his work ethic and tenacity working the farms and playing football. 

After high school, he moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University.  There he put himself through college working for his uncle’s moving company.

After falling in love with the city, he moved on to California Western School of Law, where he focused on trial practice and writing skills. 

Carlos has worked with Matthew R. Miller since law school, and has been a tremendous asset for client relations and advocacy on behalf of his clients.  Carlos primarily focuses on consumer and civil litigation.  He feels privileged to represent people who have been injured, cheated or wronged.    

Carlos handles all aspect of litigation and has gained a reputation for aggressively, ethically and effectively handling his cases.  During his time with Mr. Miller, Carlos assisted in obtaining favorable results for his clients such as:

  • $2 million ($1 million in punitive damages) judgment for 17 victims of a Ponzi Scheme;  
  • $245,000 decision and finding of fraud against a real estate broker;
  • $300,000 settlement in a double derivative shareholder lawsuit;
  • $160,000 settlement in a civil rights class action lawsuit on behalf of the homeless in San Diego (pro bono);
  • A Class Action settlement that led to the creation of the Waterman Check-In center, a storage facility for San Diego’s homeless population (pro bono);
  • Jury Verdict that Police Officer used Excessive Force in arrest of local homeless advocate. 

Carlos also brings experience in other areas of practice including family law, business transactions, and criminal defense.  When he is not in the office or courtroom Mr. Americano enjoys barbecuing and playing golf.
